Color Me Blue

Patio1I love color, so when I decided to redo my patio I went for impact. I painted the walls a beautiful Cobalt blue. So now when I open my orange Indian print curtains, and look outside, I see this wonderful vibrant color and my plants (in bloom :o) and it’s a great pick-me-up.

I love it so much I’m going to also paint the opposite wall the same color. Or I should say my husband will be doing the painting. I only paint on canvas. 🙂

I looked up the meaning behind the color blue. BournCreative – a cool design firm (love their name for starters) has a great summary of the meaning behind blue:

Blue represents both the sky and the sea, and is associated with open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, expansiveness, inspiration, and sensitivity. Blue also represents meanings of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, heaven, and intelligence.

The color blue has positive affects on the mind and the body….Electric or brilliant blues become dynamic and dramatic, an engaging color that expresses exhilaration.

I love that ‘imagination’ and ‘inspiration’ are mentioned, since this is the view from my writing studio. As writers, we draw on our imagination and inspiration. So whenever I need a break, I can rest my eyes on my view from my patio doors and get inspired!

Cheers,
