I am so very, very excited to celebrate the release of Dirigibles Are Forever, my super-sexy Christmas novella set in an alternative Victorian London, filled with adventure, secrets and fun, and a dash of James Bond. The USA Today HEA Blog has called it a “MUST-READ Romance”.
I love this story! It was a blast to write it and Holly and Jack have a special place in my heart. Both of them face difficult decisions and Holly is working hard to find her place in the world. It is not the Victorian London you are used to, but a London where Her Majesty Queen Victoria passed the Equal Rights Act and women can do whatever they want…including being Aether Traffic Controllers;). But Holly no longer believes it is enough. She wants more, but has not yet found what this more is.
Working as an Aether Traffic Controller saved Holly Acklin after the death of her husband, but now she wants more—including a night of uninhibited passion with Jack Smith, whose very presence has kept her body tingling for months.
Special Agent Jack Smith kept his identity a secret when he came to the London Royal Port Authority with one assignment, one he cannot fail. It holds him back from following his attraction to Holly. But on the eve he must complete the mission, Holly asks for one night with no rules or boundaries, and his control snaps.
When London experiences an unexpectedly white Christmas, all dirigible traffic is grounded, leaving Holly and Jack free to act upon their stormy passions. Holly finds her determination to stay emotion-free crumbling unaware Jack is experiencing the same need. Each lover wishes for more, but fears it can’t be. Instead they focus their desires in mind-blowing passion.
But when Holly discovers that Jack isn’t who he claimed to be, everything is thrown into turmoil. Can she trust the man she thought she knew?

I believe I’m the last one to spill – the end of the two weeks!
I don’t keep many secrets. I guess it’s because I have a way of saying too much at times! I pretty much wear my heart openly. But there are a few things about me that some people don’t know about – I have over 300 volumes of Japanese yaoi (Boys Love) stored in my closet. I’m not sure why I keep this a secret from most people. Maybe it’s my age (much older than thirty!) and that the subject matter can be graphically erotic. Reading comics when I should be reading something more ‘important’ or even reading books in my genre (which I do on occasion!).
The mangakas (comic artists) have their unique style of drawing. It’s fun to follow their careers. In my fast paced world, yaoi provides a fast, sexy read, with a happy ever after ending. I bring a manga to the gym and read it while walking on the treadmill and it’s an easy 35-40 minute workout!
It’s an expensive habit but one that isn’t going away anytime soon.
Remember to leave a comment to get a chance to win!
At the end of our two weeks of secrets, they’ll be an author gift basket giveaway. Each author gets to choose from one of the following three items to put in the basket: 1) an ebook; 2) a print book; or 3) a gift card. We aren’t telling. Secrets, remember? So the winner will receive four surprise prizes.
How do you win?
Easy. Comment on the blog post of our authors. All commenters will be assigned a number and entered into a raffle. A winner will be chosen with random.org, which selects numbers at–you guessed it–random. You can increase your chances of winning by commenting on several authors’ posts. There are four of us, so if you comment on all four of our blog posts, we will assign you four number in the raffle. If you comment on just three, then you’ll be assigned three numbers, and so forth.
Come and join the fun. What’s your secret?
Well, come on in and settle down. Would you like a nice cup of tea to go with the biscuits…sorry, cookies? So, you good and comfy?
My secret is that I am a Closet Translator;).
My mum is German and my Dad was British. After his death my mum took my brother and me back to Germany. So I am fluent in German… although now when my mum comes to visit we speak mostly Germish. Anyway, when I was living in London a friend of a friend was looking for someone to do a cheap translation for an anthology. I contacted him and he said yes! (Neither of us had much of an idea what we were in for;). He sent me the short story and off I went, no clue what I was doing, but certain it would be easy enough to do. I wasn’t actively writing at that time, so let’s just say it was an eye-opening experience.
At the same time the friend who hooked we up with the editor opened her literary agency. She asked me if I knew of any German authors who I believed would do well if translated into English. Federica de Cesco is a Swiss writer who writes YA and adult romance. Federica is Swiss and married to a Japanese photographer. She has lived all over the world and tells stories about young women from different cultures all over the world and the challenges they face. She was an auto-buy for me, so I suggested her. We contacted the German publisher and I translated the first couple of chapters of one of her books…It was an amazing experience to translate her words into English. Unfortunately we had very little idea on what to do with it, so none of the English publishers were interested. It is still one of my dreams to see her books in English and share her amazing writing with the world, but I don’t believe that will ever happen. Lol, and her books are a little dated. One of my favourite books is the story about a young woman living in Japan. She uses phone booths and listened to her music on a portable CD player;).
Shortly after I handed in the translated short story, I bumped into an acquaintance who was an editor at a small publisher in London. I mentioned to him that if he ever needed anything translated from German he should let me know. A little while later he asked if I would translate, not for publication, but for him to be able to read the story, a book by a well-known German children’s author. And I did. Again, it was a lot of hard work, but also a lot of fun.
So, that’s me, the Closet Translator stepping into the light;). What is your secret?
Comment here and on all of the other Secret posts for a chance to win a surprise basket from the four of us. Each comment on one of our post is a chance to win. The more you comment, the more entries you collect.
Having worked in retails for years I have lost most of my enthusiasm for Christmas. Let me just say that everyone, and I mean everyone from tiny toddler to sweet little granny, goes completely and utterly INSANE at this time of year!!!!
This is the first time in far too many years that I am not starting my workday at 4.30am in the morning to get to the store by 5am and set it up for Boxing Day madness. To celebrate the wonderful and exciting (to me at least;)) fact, I am giving away two of my ebooks.
Tell me what you are excited about this Christmas for a chance to win a book of your choice. On Christmas Eve my Dark Elves will help me choose the winners! And let me just say we will have a lot of fun doing it….
Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!
For a little fun:
If you could live in another time, what time would you like to live in? That’s the topic at Darker Temptations over the past couple of weeks and a question for me to ponder…
But first….Contest! Contest! See below for details on getting a chance to win a free pdf copy of Resistance – Outlaw Lovers!
Call me crazy but I would be interested in living sometime in the future, specifically during the times of my Outlaw Lovers series…about seven plus years from now it would be a post-catastrophic time where most of the women have died from various illnesses and there are tons of men available.
Here’s a peek at how life would be like:
A fast-acting virus has killed a majority of the world’s female population and forced the creation of the Claiming Law. Groups of males have the right to claim a female as property…sexual property. With the Terrorist Wars over, the Outlaw brothers come home to declare ownership of their women…
I would be part of the “Resistance”. A ragtag group of people who are willing to fight to reinstate a democratic government and get rid of the newly formed dictatorship as well as the Claiming Law. I’d have my pick of hunky guys who believe in a woman picking her own man (or men) for her mates. And I would try like hell to avoid getting caught by the groups of men roving around looking to claim wives.
How about you? Do you have a wish to live in another time?
So, my contest question is…
For a chance at a free pdf ebook copy of “Resistance” send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org with the first names of the three main characters (one female and two males) in the futuristic erotic romance “Resistance” part of my Outlaw Lovers series at Ellora’s Cave.
Your answer can be found here:
A winner will be picked sometime over this weekend and their name will be posted here and I will contact them as well.
Contest deadline – midnight tonight – Friday September 27, 2013 E.T.
Good luck! Woot!
Books can be read in this series order (ebook formats)…1. Jude Outlaw 2. The Claiming 3. Colter’s Revenge 4. Tyler’s Woman 5. Resistance…..and in paperback format 1. So this morning, something dawned on me.
HOLY CRAP. THERE IS A BLOG CALLED DARKER TEMPTATIONS AND I AM SUPPOSED TO BE POSTING THERE EVERY SO OFTEN. WTF HAPPENED?
So here’s what happened. I got a new phone. And, said new phone is not programmed with the neato little reminders that old phone was. You know, the ones that pinged me every other Friday and said “Hey, Moron, go do your blog.”
So, this is me, grovelling and apologizing. I’m really sorry that I flaked out for a couple of Fridays there. It wasn’t intentional, promise!!
So, since those reminders also told me WHAT I was supposed to blog about, I’m sort of flying blind for this post.
“What? Regina winging it? That’s never happened.” *takes off sarcasm hat*
So, here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to give you guys something free to absolve my guilt. (Hehehehee. Here, kids! I’ll make up for bad parenting by giving you too much stuff.)
I’ll pick one random commenter and send them one FREE ebook! You can pick any of my Ellora’s Cave releases. Here, I’ll just leave you links here in case you want to go ahead and pick out your favorite. 😉 Just click the cover and it’ll take you to the Amazon page.
I’ll run this contest through midnight on Sunday, July 9th. That gives you all weekend to comment! So talk to me below, and tell me how I should punish myself for flaking on my poor Darker Temptations. 🙂
It’s here it’s here it’s finally HERE!!!!

Okay, intro over. Let’s get to the meat of this post. And I do mean, meat. As in, man meat.
CAUGHT IN CRIMSON Character Spotlight: Adam Montague
Meet Adam Montague. Carpenter, divorcee, businessman. Used to being in charge. Is a true gentleman. Opens doors for ladies, says ma’am, leaps to protect them whenever possible.
In short, he’s completely wrong for Delia.
But damn, does he like what she does to him.
After discovering his wife Vanessa’s embezzlement and their subsequent divorce, Adam found it hard to trust anyone, much less women. But at his employee’s urging, Adam reluctantly agrees to an online dating profile. He doesn’t really click with anyone until he happens upon CrimsonLady83’s profile.
She’s gorgeous, sexy, and seems almost completely insane. But Adam can’t deny the magic things happening around him, even though they should be impossible. Thrown into a world he knows nothing about, he’ll have a lot to deal with in order to get out with his life, and heart, intact.
Let’s play questions with Adam!
1. What is your favorite word?
Energy. I like how it makes me feel.
2. What is your least favorite word?
Vanessa. For obvious reasons.
3. What turns you on?
Other than a great body? Intelligence. I love a woman who’s clever.
4. What turns you off?
5. What sound do you love?
The sound of tools on wood. It means progress.
6. What sound do you hate?
7. What is your favorite curse word?
8. What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?
I can’t imagine doing anything but building. It’s who I am.
9. What profession would you not like to do?
I could never sit in an office and handle phone calls. That would drive me insane.
10. If you could paint a picture of your perfect woman, what would it be like?
Well, she’s kind. Brave, and strong, but lets me take care of her too. She’s beautiful, curvy, moves well. But I guess the most important thing is that she’d be trustworthy. I’d have to be able to know she and I were a team.
^^^^^^^^^^CAUGHT IN CRIMSON blog tour giveaway! ^^^^^
Happy holidays! We hope you’re all enjoying the festive season and aren’t too overwhelmed by shopping and family obligations. We thought we’d share two easy-peasy holiday recipes that are favourites in our households. Both these recipes can also be found in Passionate Cooks, a free cookbook from All Romance.
Using a food processor (Cuisinart, Kitchen Aid) makes this recipe very simple.
Preheat oven to 275F.
1/2 pound butter at room temperature
1/2 cup fruit sugar (or grind up regular sugar in processor)
1/2 cup rice flour
2 cups cake and pastry flour
If using normal sugar, grind it in processor to make it fine. Add butter and cream with sugar until smooth and light. Add rice and pastry flour. Dough should form into a ball in processor. Press into a greased square glass cooking dish (medium sized – 9 inches or so).
Cook for one hour or until bottom is lightly browned (lift up glass dish to check). Do not overcook! Cool and cut into squares. It’s best to cut when the shortbread is still a bit warm – not too hot, not too cold.
Sweet Embrace Potatoes
1 large can sweet potatoes in syrup (drained)
¾ stick melted butter
1 c sugar
1 c milk
2 tbs corn starch
cinnamon to taste
Dissolve cornstarch in a little of the milk to make it mix easily. Beat all of the above ingredients with mixer until well blended. Pour in casserole and bake 22 minutes at 375 degrees.
Topping for casserole
1 c crushed cornflakes
1 c coconut flakes
½ c brown sugar
¾ c butter
½ nuts (chopped pecans, chopped walnuts, almond flakes)
Mix topping ingredients over low heat. Spread over partially cooked sweet potato mixture. Return to oven for 20 minutes.
Enjoy! We wish health and happiness to you and yours.
Keira Andrewsand Leta Blake write fairy tale inspired m/m erotica and romantica with Ellora’s Cave. Check out Earthly Desires, the first book in the series, available for purchase at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Ellora’s Cave.
Okay, I admit. I’m a little bit of a procrastinator sometimes.
So on the day I’m supposed to blog, I remember it at about 7 am.
Dark heroes? What’s a dark hero? At this point in the day, no coffee, no other form of caffeinated wonder, it’s amazing that I’m even upright. What are heroes again? What makes them dark?
Damned if I know. *stares longingly at coffeepot*
So instead of doing what I’m supposed to do, how about we do a giveaway instead? You guys like free stuff? Of COURSE you do!
So here’s what I want you to do. Make me feel better about forgetting my responsibilities. Tell me something you’ve left until the last minute recently. Did you run out of dog food and have to feed your pups fish flakes? Did you not do laundry and have to borrow your husband’s skivvies? Did you show up to work unshowered with some story about a nuclear war blowing out the power on your block?
Entertain me, and ease my guilt!
Comment below, and tonight at 10:00pm EST I’ll run you guys through random.org and then give to you your choice of an ebook copy of any of my EC releases!
Go spread the word, lovies. I’ll be here running to the day job!
What time is it? OH CRAP!
Well, hello there.
I wasn’t expecting company.
Well, wait. Yeah, maybe I was.
My name is Regina Cole, and I’m an erotic romance author and marshmallow addict.
Wait, this isn’t a twelve-step meeting? Damn it. *checks calendar*
OH! Sorry! This is Darker Temptations! And this is my inaugural post, in which I introduce myself and give you nice things!
Well isn’t that embarrassing.
Regina Cole. Erotic Romance Author for Ellora’s Cave. Loves marshmallows, dogs, and fishing. Hates people that tap on the glass of aquariums and badly fitting bras.
Here at Darker Temptations, the mood is somewhat, well, darker. Since I write everything from light contemporary to erotic horror, I’ll be trying to talk more about my darker stuff here, but be aware that I genre-bounce like the Dos Equis guy bed hops. So if I wander over into contemporary land, send one of my compatriots to yank me back.
I’ve been reading scifi, horror and fantasy since I had my first library card. I had a preteen love affair with Edgar Allan Poe, and I’ve never quite gotten over him. (I recited The Raven in a poetry competition in high school, and I make a pilgrimage to his hometown of Baltimore once a year. My husband claims that’s for a baseball game, but I can FEEL POE’S SPIRIT while I’m there. Rly. Srsly.)
But since my A #1 love is and always will be romance, I mash up these things with love stories, and so far, I think it’s going pretty well!
My fourth release with Ellora’s Cave, which should be coming out in the next few months, is an erotic paranormal romance. It’s the first book in an intended series, and is all about witches. Which make me happy.
But you’re supposed to get to know ME in this post, right? So, here goes. I’m a happily married twenty-something with two crazy dogs and a fat cat. I have a day job, a fish, and an ancient Honda SUV. My dream is to stay at home in my pajamas and write all day, every day. My family is crazy yet supportive, and I live in the deep, DEEP South, where possums are the primary roadkill and “liberal” is a dirty word.
I try to stay very, very quiet here.
If you’ve made it through the post thus far, you deserve something. A chance to win something cool, at least. So here’s what we’re going to do. All survivors can leave their comment below, and I’ll pick one lucky zombie to receive a copy of SINFUL TRUTH, my erotic horror romance from Ellora’s Cave Publishing.
Isn’t that special? Don’t you feel like we know each other so well already? Aren’t you happy that I’m inviting you to my house-cleaning party this weekend?
Where’d you go?
Til next time, m’loves,
